Creative Mode
You have unlimited resources, and you can create buildings, etc., even large-scale mesecons equipment.
Survival Mode
You need to constantly collect resources, make tools, explore the world, and find food to survive. The whole survival mode has no ultimate goal. You can choose to resurrect after death.
Tips
If you are not clear about the operation of the game, please read the Get Started.
Give yourself a name in the game world
Run the application, after entering, you will see the following interface, just enter your name under "Name", if it is a multiplayer game, you can click the Password
button and enter your own password (the password will be encrypted and saved, no need to re-enter).
Note
The name can only be English characters, not unicode or special chars. The nickname can be unicode chars. but you must enable the nickname mod first to play.
Note
- Known Issues: Versions released before minetest-5.6.1-edu-2d4c67fd6(2022-10-15) input text on Windows systems, only Can use pure English input method, can not use any Unicode IME input method input, otherwise no text can be input. The latest version must be installed to use Unicode IME Input Method.
- If occasionally the IME input method cannot be called out, please click the window outside the input box (let the input box lose focus), and then switch back to the input box (click the input box again)
- BTW: It is normal to input unicode chars under
Android
andLinux
(Ubuntu
).
Android phone/tablet (touch screen) cannot close the open window (inventory bar) in the game
Start the game
Then click the "Start (Single Player) Game
" button to start the game. If you want to play multiplayer game
, you must enter [teacher mode configuration](../teacher/outgame-man/#teacher mode).
Tips
If there is no configuration, the system defaults to running the game with damage enabled [Creative Mode] (./creative/).
If the child is relatively young (<10 years old), it is recommended to start with [creative mode] (./creative/) and do not enable damage. If your child is adventurous, try Survival Mode.
Survival Mode can help younger children understand why houses, torches and myths and legends were needed in the Stone Age.
